VenueThe Center for Materials Processing and Structural Studies (CEMES) is a CNRS laboratory (UPR 8011) associated with Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse and the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA). Created in 1988, CEMES succeeded the previous Laboratory of Optics and Electronics (LOE), founded in 1957 by Professor Gaston Dupouy. CEMES is a fundamental research laboratory in solid-state physics, nanoscience, molecular chemistry, and materials science. Its activities cover a broad spectrum, from the synthesis of (nano)materials and molecular systems to the study and modeling of their structures and physical properties (optical, mechanical, electronic, and magnetic), and their integration into devices. It is located on a 3.9-hectare campus in the Saouzelong district of Toulouse. It consists of four main buildings, including "La Boule" and "Le Briquet," which once housed transmission electron microscopes operating at 1.5 and 3.5 million volts, respectively. Presentations will be held in the conference room (100 seats). The TEM workshop will be held using a JEOL 2100+. The SEM workshop will be held using a Thermo Fisher 600i SEM-FIB and a FemtoTools NMT04 nanoindenter. |
